What is it?

CSSC is the GNU Project's clone for the traditional Unix SCCS suite.

Current Activities

Currently, the last remaining unimplemented but useful features (included and excluded deltas) are being worked on; you can help with this effort even if you are not an expert in SCCS, because the remaining work consists mainly of carefully comparing CSSC against SCCS.

Once included and excluded deltas have been implemented in a way which is compatible with SCCS, then we can progress to a non-beta full release of CSSC.

History

The history of CSSC is documented in a separate page.

Future Plans

Future plans for CSSC consist for the moment of working toward a full release (see above). From that point on, the principal goals will be to improve the documentation, support more target platforms, and perhaps maintain compatibility with BitSCCS, the SCCS component of BitKeeper.

My future plans for CSSC don't really include significant changes in functionality (apart, of course for bugfixes). For the reasons behind this, please see the CSSC FAQ.

Credits and Thanks

The list of credits is maintained in the CREDITS file within the source distribution, but you can find an online version of the CREDITS file here.
